CLAT 2025 Registration: Latest News, Updates and Notification

Registration for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 has begun on July 15, 2024. Interested candidates can register online via the official website of the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) until October 15, 2024​ ​.

The CLAT 2025 exam is scheduled for December 1, 2024, and will be conducted in offline mode at various exam centres across the country​ . This year, 24 NLUs will accept the exam results for undergraduate (5-year LLB) and postgraduate (LLM) programs. Additionally, some public sector undertakings (PSUs) will also use CLAT PG scores for recruiting law officers​ ​.

Candidates need to meet certain eligibility criteria and submit required documents, including personal details, educational certificates, a recent coloured photograph, and a signature in specified formats. The application fee is INR 4,000 for General, OBC, PwD, NRI, PIO, and OCI categories, and INR 3,500 for SC, ST, and BPL categories​ ​.

  • Provisional Answer Key Release: First week of December 2024
  • Objection Raising Window: First week of December 2024
  • Final Answer Key Release: Second week of December 2024
  • Result Announcement: Second week of December 2024

Steps to Apply for CLAT 2025

Applying for CLAT is a multi-step process that involves careful attention to detail to ensure all information is accurate and complete. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the application process:

1. Registration

  • Visit the official CLAT website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
  • Click on the registration link and create a new account by providing basic details such as your name, email address, and phone number.
  • After registration, a unique user ID and password will be generated, which will be used for further application processes.

2. Filling the Application Form

  • Log in using your credentials and fill out the application form.
  • Enter personal information, including your name, address, and contact details.
  • Fill in your educational qualifications and upload the necessary documents, such as your Class 10 and 12 mark sheets.

3. Uploading Documents

  • Upload a recent passport-sized photograph and signature in the specified format.
  • If applicable, upload category certificates for SC/ST/OBC candidates and disability certificates for PWD candidates.

4. NLU Preferences

  • While filling out the application form, you will need to select your preferred NLUs in the order of priority.

5. Application Fee Payment

  • Pay the application fee using the available online payment options. The fee is INR 4,000 for General/OBC candidates and INR 3,500 for SC/ST/BPL candidates​​.

6. Submission

  • Review all the information entered before submitting the form.
  • After submission, take a printout of the application form for future reference.
